Joseph Merlino serves as an investigative consultant and analytic expert in various receivership matters.

Mr. Merlino has experience and expertise in identifying and explaining the ways in which financial-fraud schemes have been set up and operated, identifying victims and the means by which invested funds were stolen, quantifying the amounts of losses, and designing equitable plans for distributing recovered funds. The government, defendants and presiding judges all rely upon Mr. Merlino’s findings.

Mr. Merlino was employed in the international finance industry for more than thirty years, and has held many senior positions with a number of well-respected banking and financial institutions. His professional experience ranges from currency trading, to supervising large currency trading groups and marketing desks, to directly managing and marketing client accounts. He has also assisted in establishing and monitoring operational and audit procedures required by internal and external regulatory authorities.
